What do the names of styles or schools of art classification mean?
The paintings shown here are contemporary art. Although my paintings may be influenced by different styles of previous artists and groups, they are basically contemporary because they are currently created. The definition of contemporary art covers works of art created in our life time. Generally speaking, paintings created from 1970 until today. Contemporary artists today generally incorporate many of the styles of previous artists. And so you will find in contemporary art influences of impressionism, neo-impressionism, post-impressionism, cubism, surrealism, abstract -expression, minimalism and modern styles.
How to buy art?
First and foremost you should love the painting you buy. Good art will uplift your spirit. A good painting will enrich your personal life. You should be able to discover new nuances in the painting as time goes by. It should NOT fit the color of your room, furniture or carpet. A painting should stand on it's own merit. It's purpose is to add depth to your life.
Find artists you like and try to find a format the you can afford. You don't have to buy the original pieces. With the development of sophisticated cameras and printers you can purchase first class reproductions of highly qualified artists at a very reasonable price. Generally speaking art will increase in price.
When purchasing paintings from a living artist you would probably need a magic wand to know which painting will increase in price. Public relations, an excellent gallery owner, good connections are part of the business of selling art. However generally speaking a good artist is one who does not follow trends, has a unique style he developed through the years, and has something to say about the society we live in.
Today, almost every corporation has a curator whose sole purpose is to invest in art, mostly paintings. They know that it is a good investment. However fine art prints increase in price too.
First I would like to say that there are different ways to buy paintings. You can buy "stock art" - these are paintings that are printed by the hundred of thousands. They are printed on paper, plastic canvas, wood and so on. Some of them are from the best artists that ever lived. The down side is that you will see them in many homes and offices, and therefore they will not open you or your friends to a new experience.
There are artist that technically perform well, and than there are artists who have a passion to paint. They paint because this is their form of expression, in fact, you could not make them stop painting. Vincent Van Gogh could not sell his paintings in spite of the fact that his father and his brother were major art dealers - and yet he kept on painting. He poured his soul in to his paintings, and I can still remember the impact they made on me at an exhibition when I was ten years old. Claude Monet on the other hand was very popular, but for years painted the same pond which he built in his garden. Although his early paintings were not so popular, they had more of his spirit.
You will find in this website contemporary modern painting that I painted in the last twenty years. Some of the landscape painting are from sites in Washington, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, California, Florida and other places I visited through the years. I was born in Israel, so many of my early memories are of the hills seen from my home. I paint portrait of people that impressed me. I paint mostly in oil, but also in acrylic and watercolor pencils. My painting of landscape, seascapes, cityscapes, boats, flowers, people or portraits are from memory and they are not accurate representation of the actual subjects. I also paint pure abstracts, as you will see in the page of "Abstract" paintings. I love nature and also have paintings of flowers. Again these are not true representation of any specific flower, but the impression of the subject. You have a choice of original painting, posters, or prints. Reproductions are printed in my studio with a professional HP wide format printer on the highest quality HP fabric canvas or HP premium satin matte paper. Fabric canvas prints are from 8 x 11 inch up to 24 x 32 inch. Paper posters are also from 8 x 11 inch up to 24 x 32 inch. My original paintings are from 8 x 10 inch to 36 x 42 inch. The original paintings vary in size and width. Most paintings are on stretched canvas, some are on heavy board and others on paper.

You will find paintings, fine art prints, and posters of original paintings by Judy Moore Perez.
Paintings are in oil, acrylic and watercolor pencils.
The paintings are contemporary originals by Judy Moore Perez.
Including abstract, landscape, portraits, people, marine, sail boats, seascapes, still life, flowers.
The landscape, people, and portraits are my impression of the of the people I met in my travels in the United States and Europe. The painting are not all abstract, but also not realistic. I combine the two to portray the feelings I get from viewing a scene or person.
The paintings are all from memory and therefore do not quality as an accurate depiction of the subject at hand, but my personal impression.
I believe art should be very democratic. You can purchase my paintings as originals, posters, or fine art prints as fabric canvas reproductions in several sizes, or archival heavy satin matte poster prints.
All the fine art prints are museum quality that should last for many decades.
